The tram in Santa Cruz made its first ride!

The new tram of Santa Cruz made its first ride on Saturday 2nd June.
There were long queues, because people wanted to make use of the tram during its inaugural free ride. The official inauguration was simple. The regional president Adán Martín, the President of the Cabildo Ricardo Melchior, and the mayors de Santa Cruz y La Laguna were all present and enjoyed the first official tour.

Prices:
There is a flat rate of 1.25 euros per trip, or with a monthly Bono of 40 euros. People over 65 can use the tram for free!
There are 21 stops, in a traject over 12,5km., which takes less than 40 minutes, and offers cover for over 46.000 persons per day in the metropolitan area. Every unit of the 20 trams has a capacity of 200 passengers (60 seated), with a maximum speed of 70km/h.

Intercambiador (main station), Fundación, Teatro Guimerá, Plaza Weyler, La Paz, Puente Zurita, Cruz del Señor, Conservatorio, Chimisay, Príncipes de España, Hospital de la Candelaria, Taco, El Cardonal, Hospital Universitario, Las Mantecas, Campus de Guajara, Gracia, Museo de la Ciencia, Cruz de Piedra, Padre Anchieta, La Trinidad.
