From 23rd till 29th June, Tenerife will host its second International Film Festival in its capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Guimerá theatre, the wonderful Auditorio and other venues will also hold several meetings, conferences and concerts.

We do not have too many details yet, but during the festival, you may already expect a tribute to the music from Alex North. A selectionof musical pieces used in Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A space Odyssey” will be performed by the Tenerife Film and Orchestra Choir.

The Aguaviva Festival was a great succes last year, and will be better even this year, especially because it will count with a gig from well known Brit Jay Kay, AKA Jamiroquai!!!

The Aguaviva festival will be held from 1st till 15th June this year, and there will be several gigs, workshops, exhibitions, meetings etc… This festival wants to change our mentality and take care of our planet and especially our oceans and seas, and during these 15 days they will do all they can to change our minds with shocking information on the state of our ocean, workshops and exhibitions.

The musical part of the festival is definitely a top act, especially with big names like Jamiroquai. Other confirmed gigs are famous Spanish artists like Chambao, El Canto del Loco and also Superstereo, and the funny Gran Canarian singer Aristides Moreno. More artists will be confirming their act within the next weeks, so stay tuned and check out the website of Aguaviva 2008 by clicking here.

Jamiroquai has enticed us with his excellent Acid Jazz for over 15 years now, and his concerts are real events. His dancing qualities add to this, as well as his exceptional outfits. Who doesn’t remember the classic “Emergency on planet earth” or the dance tune “Canned heat“? Jay Kay will be offering a concert on Friday 13th June in Gran Canaria, and on Saturday 14th June we will all be enjoying his gig at the Olympic Stadium Antonio Dominguez.

The fair we attended from 28th till 30th March in Utrecht, Holland, has been a mayor success. We handed out more than 500 bags with information and met quite a lot of very interested potential buyers, who were very keen to receive lots of details about property in Tenerife.

The fair had a wide selection of properties situated all over the world on offer, and seminars were held all day. Our stand was never empty, we had constant conversations all day long.

Our powerpoint presentations were also very successfull and we had quite a lot of interest, a lot of visitors complimented us with the quality of our stand and the information given. We will certainly be there again in October, and will keep you informed on dates and hours.

Zoals u kunt zien op bijbehorende foto’s, gaat de bouw van Fuente del Palm-Mar goed vooruit.

 The exterior walls are being rendered and finished, and the different blocks of apartments are getting a first coat of colour!

De buitenmuren van het complex worden op dit moment afgewerkt, en de verschillende blokken krijgen reeds een eerste laagje verf!

The third edition of the Secondhome Fair in Belgium will be opening its doors next Friday 28th September. For three days you will be able to visit over 100 stands with estate agents and related companies, offering you the best properties of their country. Spain, France and Italy are still the countries with the biggest amount of visitors, but Turkey is also slowly rising and more exclusive destinations like Dubai are on their way to the top as well.

This summer month has seen the opening of the Halifax bank on our island! Halifax has opened its first branch in Centro Comercial Fanabe Plaza L332-333, Costa Adeje, in the Fanabe area (Commercial Centre in front of Hotel Jacaranda). This is great news for all ex-pats, but they bring us even better news, as their winter opening hours will be from Monday till Thursday from 9am till 6pm! Just like at home :)…
